INSTALLATIONS
DO YOU HEAR THE CABBAGE GROWING?
Inaudible audible. In society in which even love is calculated in cabbage* an individual may feel that he cannot hear his own cabbage growing.
*In Latvian language Cabbage is often used as a metaphor for money.

SEWN WITH WHITE THREADS
I once walked through a foreign land and photographed people's fences. How truly evanescent and fragile are these constructions with their boundary function.

HOME?
The large-format painting and wooden object installation "Home?" is created as a story about the perpetually relevant searches for home, belonging, and security.
The beginning of the installation "Home?" is a childhood photograph of mine, depicting the driveway to my countryside house. This house is my happy place. A place to always return to.
We all search for our own happy place - a place where to feel a sense of belonging, a place where to feel comfortable, secure, and protected. But can the happy place be anywhere? Is it discoverable or inherently given?
AUSS, PILS UN SĒTA
